Loans offered through the Dane County Housing Authority are for first time home buyers whose income does not exceed 80% of the area median income. These funds can be used with other downpayment programs used in Dane County.

Down Payment Plus
The Down Payment Plus program is a down payment and closing cost assistance program for low and moderate-income home buyers whose income does not exceed 80% of the area median income. This program is administered by the Wisconsin Partnership for Housing Development and is available throughout the state of Wisconsin.Lenders using this program must be a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of Chicago and a participant of this program.The forgivable loan is $4,000.These funds can be used with other down-payment programs.

Home Start
The Home Start program provides a low interest, deferred payment loan to be used for down payment and/or closing costs for residents of Dane, Sauk, Green, Columbia, Iowa, Rock, Dodge, or Jefferson County whose income is below 80% of the area median income.The loan amount is 3% of the purchase price not exceeding $3,000.These funds can be used with all downpayment programs.

Movin' Out, Inc.
Movin’ Out, Inc. offers 2 types of downpayment assistance for households with incomes less than 80% of the area median income who have a family member with a permanent disability.The AHP program provides up to $8,500 to be used for purchasing the property and rehab.The second program provides a deferred loan up to $36,000 through Dane County HOME funds. Both of these programs can be used with other downpayment programs.

WHEDA Home Plus
The WHEDA Home Plus program provides a loan up to $10,000 to be used for down payment, closing cost assistance and future repairs to the property.The loan amount is 5% of the purchase price.This program cannot be used with the City of Madison American Dream program.
