Dane County Housing Authority (DCHA) course schedule
The Dane County Housing Authority (DCHA) offers education and counseling to First Time Home Buyers (FTHB) where you can learn about budgeting, credit, the buying process, financing and caring for your home by attending courses offered at DCHA. Counselors, Lenders, REALTORS® and Home Inspectors will explain their role in the process and help you become an informed home buyer.
The FTHB course is a comprehensive, two-session course. Participants who complete the course will earn a FTHB Certificate of Education. FTHB Education Certificates are required for many down-payment assistance programs and many lenders require FTHB certificates to qualify for first-time-home buyer mortgage loans.
All courses are free of charge and open to the public. Advance registration is required. All First Time Homebuyer courses are at the Dane County Housing Authority, 2001 W. Broadway, Monona (next to McDonalds at South Towne Mall).
All Home Maintenance Courses are at Project Home, 1966 S. Stoughton Rd. Madison. (Next to A-1 Furniture).
